Our Lady of Laus is a Marian apparition that took place in Laus, France, between 1664 and 1718. The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Benoîte Rencurel, a humble 17-year-old shepherdess, delivering messages of prayer, repentance, and mercy. Benoîte was chosen to be a messenger of conversion and healing, guiding sinners back to God.
During these apparitions, Our Lady instructed Benoîte to encourage people to confess their sins and seek reconciliation, emphasizing the importance of a pure heart and a life devoted to Christ. She also requested the construction of a sanctuary where pilgrims could experience God’s mercy. Over time, Laus became known as a place of spiritual and physical healing, with many reporting miraculous cures, particularly through the use of a blessed oil associated with the shrine.
Despite initial skepticism, devotion to Our Lady of Laus grew, and in 2008, the Catholic Church officially recognized the apparitions, making it one of the few approved Marian apparition sites. To this day, thousands of pilgrims visit Laus, seeking peace, healing, and a renewed relationship with God.
As a parish dedicated to Our Lady of Laus here in Powerview-Pine Falls, MB, we embrace her message of faith, reconciliation, and divine mercy.
We invite all to deepen their devotion to the Blessed Virgin, follow her call to conversion, and find hope in her loving intercession. May Our Lady of Laus continue to guide us on the path of grace and salvation.
